How to Care for Textile Jewellery

At the heart of my work is a love for texture. By combining traditional textile techniques with precious metals, I aim to create modern treasures that carry the weight of history. Because these pieces feature delicate hand-woven ribbons and vintage trims, they require a slightly different kind of care than solid metal jewellery.

To ensure your woven pieces remain as beautiful as the day they arrived, here is a simple guide to caring for your textile jewellery.

The Art of Wearing

Jewellery should always be the finishing touch to your outfit - the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.

To protect the delicate fibres of the ribbons, avoid direct contact with:

  • Perfumes and hairsprays

  • Lotions and fake tan

  • Make-up

Always remove your pieces before showering, swimming or exercising to keep them dry and safe.

A Light Touch: Cleaning

Textile jewellery is tactile by nature, but it benefits from a gentle approach to cleaning.

  • For the Textiles: If you notice dust or light marking on the ribbons, use a damp, soft cloth. Lightly brush the cloth over the surface of the ribbon. It is important to brush rather than rub, as rubbing can disturb the delicate weave of the vintage trims

  • For any Silver or Gold elements (such as clasps): For the metal sections of your piece, a soft, dry polishing cloth is all you need to restore the original shine

Proper Storage

When you aren’t wearing your jewellery, it should be kept in a dark, cool, and dry place. To prevent the ribbons from snagging or the metal from scratching, I recommend storing each piece individually in the cotton pouch or box provided with your order.

Repairs & Longevity

I believe in making things last. Because every piece is handmade in my studio, I am able to offer a repair service to ensure your jewellery stays in your collection for years to come.

I offer complimentary repairs for up to one year after purchase. Beyond that, I am always happy to discuss repairs or refreshes for a small fee - helping to keep your piece in perfect condition.
