Award winning jeweller Emma Calvert explores the intersection of jewellery, historic textiles and craft, reworking ribbons and fabrics into distinctive modern treasures.
Trained at Central St. Martins London in Woven Textiles, Emma brings a weaver’s eye for structure, texture and pattern to jewellery. Her designs celebrate material contrast, creating highly tactile pieces rooted in the rich history and memory that fabrics hold.
Sourcing historic ribbons and antique passementerie – from 17th-century Florentine trims and 1920s art deco hat ribbons to military braids – Emma explores techniques that transform the textiles in contrasting ways. She constructs hand-braided ribbon pieces that hold a solid, three-dimensional form, while also imprinting textile remnants in wax to cast in recycled silver and gold. The result is a collection that balances the fluid drape and memory of fabric with the permanence of precious metal.

Working from her studio on the Dorset coast, every piece is handcrafted in the UK with purpose, intention and a commitment to sustainable craft. Beyond her core collections, Emma collaborates with clients on bespoke commissions and heirloom redesigns, turning personal stories and old gold into wearable art.

Every detail of my work and how I work is considered. I aim to be a fully sustainable design brand, creating products with kindness and integrity that have the smallest impact possible on the environment and world around us. To do this, I have been working hard on refining the processes, suppliers and materials I use.
• Every piece is cast in 100% AgAIN recycled silver - fully traceable and sustainably sourced from medical X-rays in UK
• The majority of my textiles (over 75%) are vintage, dead-stock or recycled materials.
• Packaging and postage boxes are plastic-free and made from recycled/eco-friendly materials, with no foam fillers and introducing an organic cotton pouch.
• All of my suppliers are UK-based
• Working towards a circular model, so all my pieces can be be refreshed, recycled, reloved or reused
• Aim for all of my materials to be fully traceable
