Heirloom Jewellery Remodelling & Redesign
A Sustainable Renewal: Giving Heirloom Gold a New Life
Eco-Friendly Jewellery Reworking in the UK
Redesigning heirloom jewellery is one of the most sustainable and meaningful ways to create fine jewellery. By working with materials that already exist, we embrace a circular lifecycle that favours renewal over newly mined metals and gemstones.
You are invited to bring your unworn, inherited family jewellery in to be completely redesigned. Any diamonds or gemstones will be carefully removed before sending your gold to be melted down at my trusted casting house, to be transformed into a signature textile-inspired design.
Using recycled metals and your own precious history, we can create something responsibly made, designed to last for generations to come.
Melting Down Family Gold: Where structurally suitable, we can safely melt down your solid yellow gold, keeping your sentimental metal in a closed-loop system.
Resetting Antique Gemstones: Heirloom diamonds, sapphires, or rubies are carefully assessed, extracted, and reset into our organic, fabric-textured settings.
Signature Textile Casting: We press your chosen fabric or textures into the wax mould before casting your family gold, ensuring your history is physically woven into the metal
How We Transform Your History

Jewellery Remodelling
If you have unwanted pieces of solid gold or platinum jewellery that you do not wish to melt down directly into a new piece, I also offer a convenient trade-in service.
I can arrange for your pieces to be valued at current market rates. This value is then applied as a credit toward any piece in my current collections or put directly toward your new bespoke project. For peace of mind, I do recommend having any major diamonds or gemstones appraised before sending them to the studio. Please drop me an email at studio@emmacalvert.com for further information.
Gold recycling and Credit service
Breathing new life into old gold is highly specialised and labor-intensive and if a piece is sentimental it allows you to preserve the memories and significance of it, while transforming it into something you'll be able to enjoy wearing. During your consultation, we will discuss your materials, budget and design possibilities. To begin your transformation, please email me at studio@emmacalvert.com or fill in the form below with details of your heirloom pieces and design ideas.
Pricing & Quotes
As a guide, our heirloom redesign commissions begin at £800.
Following our consultation, I will provide a tailored quote along with an outline of the process so you know exactly what to expect. Transforming old gold into a new design requires time and skill. It isn't a simpler alternative to a standard piece, but is a way to honour your history by shaping something lasting with intention, integrity and craftsmanship.

Yellow gold is the best suited for direct studio melting. White gold and platinum can be more brittle when re-worked, but they can be traded in for credit towards your new piece.
